Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible for obtaining all required planning consents and the completion of Deployment Code compliance processes on the small cell program. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local laws, as well as additional client specific expectations. This role includes a community engagement component. The town planner is responsible for exceptional record keeping for each individual site and accurate milestone tracking.
About the Role

Environmental Planning
- Develop and maintain a high level understanding of all relevant Commonwealth, State and Territory Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice and procedures;
- Develop and maintain a high level understanding of local government policies and plans and procedures;
- Develop and maintain a high level understanding of community consultation principles and practices;
- Develop and maintain a high level knowledge or risk communications principles and procedures;
- Ensure Industry Deployment Code compliance for each individual site;
- Ensure all legislative approval requirements are met prior to commencement of work;
- Preparation of environmental planning briefs and advice;
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the health and safety issues and risks associated with the mobile telecommunications industry and be able to effectively liaise with stakeholders and the community in this regard;
- Understand the processes relating to other project segments including tenure agreements, site design and site construction.

Service Delivery
- Adopt a proactive and responsive customer service attitude and maintain a good working relationship with clients;
- Participate in site selection processes including due diligence assessments, undertaking feasibility reports, site selection reports and site design visits;
- Preparation of Development Applications and Deployment Code Documentation;
- Update the RFNSA when required;
- Consult and engage with the community to the client’s and Service Stream’s expectation;
- Manage stakeholder enquiries and complaints in collaboration with external stakeholders and community relations managers. Document all stakeholder submissions and relevant correspondence in Site Tracker;
- Organise and attend community, Council, and stakeholder meetings where necessary, this includes contentious site resolution meetings such as community information sessions;
- Contribute to the continual improvement of the company including systems, design and innovation, OHS&E, cost saving, research and development;
- Read, understand and ensure compliance with the client contract at all times, with particular regard to the performance of planning and community consultation related functions of the business;
- Represent company and behave in a professional and ethical manner.

Relationship management
- Adopt a proactive and responsive customer service attitude and maintain good working relationships with clients, sub-consultants, Council’s, Commonwealth and State Government agencies and other Carrier representatives; and
- Assist in working with Planning Consultants and education of Graduates.
