**The Role**
In this role, you have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and expertise in contract management.

We deliver a broad range of services including our business as usual activities for the Defence Estate, as well as the occasional crisis response and everything in between. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and agile thinkers to join our service delivery team. You will work in a team of professionals, with a remit that that ranges from managing contractors and delivery of contracts across Defence.

You will also be working on governance, and analysing data with a focus on the strategic and operational requirements that must be met to deliver services across over 70 bases, 25,000 buildings and 2 million hectares of land. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Perform and achieve complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support with an integrated workforce.
- Establish, maintain and enhance partnering relationships with industry partners and key internal stakeholders.
- Undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews and make recommendations for business improvement.
- Perform complex analysis of, and undertake complex negotiations regarding, our Industry partners’ contract performance, pricing, risk management and other contract management matters.
- Interpret and provide advice regarding the contract management function based on legislation, policy and procedures.

The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA).

**About our Team**
Our branch is one of three branches within Service Delivery Division (SDD) that provide essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence personnel around Australia in SDD’s three geographic zones. Every day is different, with new challenges to solve and interesting work crossing our desks. Our team delivers:

- Customer Service. We deliver services from cleaning to catering, construction to gardening, security to aircraft refuelling and lots more. We support every Defence base and site across Australia and strive for excellence in service delivery.
- Crisis response. Crises happen when you least expect it. Our response to cyclones, floods, bushfires and the global pandemic must all be managed effectively to maintain the integrity of the Estate. We do it all at short notice including on weekends and late into the night when the situation demands it.
- Collaboration. To achieve the level of service delivery needed we work collaboratively with our industry partners, including ten Base Services contractors.

Our team works with representatives from industry to foster creativity and explore ideas that can improve service delivery for Defence bases.

Previous contract management, procurement, administrative and analytical experience is preferred along with an understanding of Defence’s business, objectives, and strategic drivers.
