**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking an enthusiastic part-time team member to join our high-performing team at Concord Microbiology Laboratory.

In this role, you will contribute to the core functions of our routine microbiology service, including:

- Specimen reception and registration
- Sample processing and preparation
- Preliminary culture plate reading and basic result reporting

Our laboratory is equipped with advanced technology including automated antibiotic susceptibility testing and a comprehensive molecular microbiology testing service. We also provide specialist services in Mycobacteriology, Mycology, and Parasitology, offering opportunities to broaden your expertise in these key areas.

**What you'll be doing**
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations
- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
