Case Worker

**About the role**

Mercy Community are on the search for a passionate and dynamic **Case Worker** to join The Family Unit team based in **Hillcrest/Browns Plains**. This is a **12-month Fixed Term Part-time contract** with **flexibility of working 2 days each week**, with the hours being 8.30am to 4:30pm. **$43.08 - $44.20 per hour (SCHADS level 4) plus superannuation plus salary packaging available**

This role involves but not limited to
- Conduct a psycho-social assessment of the family unit to evaluate family dynamics and identify their strengths and needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate support plans to address these needs through the implementation of the case plan
- Take the lead in developing and coordinating the case plan, focusing on the family’s needs and strengths, and actively engaging with the family and other key agencies
- Implement practical in-home support to families to develop parenting knowledge and skills, and to improve family relationships, functioning and wellbeing
- Provide support to families and referrals to address more specialised needs, for example: mental health; substance misuse; Domestic and Family Violence

**About you**

As the successful applicant, you will possess:

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, or related discipline from a recognised institution
- Knowledge of the Queensland Child Protection system and experience in completing risk assessments and assessment of family needs
- Current and valid Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence
- Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) or ability to apply
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
