**About the role**:
Reporting to the Ranger Team Leader, your role will support the delivery of on-ground park management activities. You will be responsible for delivering a range of essential park maintenance and services to the high-quality standards we pride ourselves on. You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and actively participate in a team environment ensuring that the overall success of the team is a measured outcome. As part of a small, committed team you'll be helping to manage a range of parks and reserves - including the western sector of the Alpine National Park. Our area contains an extensive network of walking tracks, roads, campgrounds and day visitor areas that draw thousands of visitors each year. You'll also be involved in pest plant and animal management, native vegetation management, conserving cultural values, fire and emergency management, visitor engagement, and assisting with compliance activities.
This position is based in Mansfield, working with a small multidisciplinary team. The role is predominantly field-based, but will also involve some project management and administration-based tasks.
**We're looking for someone with**:
- Practical manaintenance knowledge and skills.
- Ability to operate safely in remote areas and solve problems independently.
- Good fitness and enjoys working outdoors in all conditions.
- Aptitude to undertake management of small, simple projects.
- Great motivation, ability to communicate well, and who enjoys engaging with community and park visitors
- Self-management and interpersonal skills
- Chainsaw, 4WD and other plant and machinery qualifications.
