- Exiger is looking for a Consultant to join our global Commercial Advisory team based in Sydney, Australia. Our Consultants offer solutions and advice to Exiger Advisory clients in managing their complex and critical Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), risk and governance issues. FCC expands beyond Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing (CFT) to Sanctions & Embargoes and includes Anti-Fraud and Investigations, Anti-Bribery & Corruptions as well as a range of criminal offences which impact both private and public sectors including financial institutions and large Corporates.
- Consultants are a vital part of our team and will manage and work on multiple complex assignments across a diverse range of industries.. A Consultant at Exiger conducts thorough analysis and research, assists with the drafting of complex reports and memoranda, reviews documents, delivers quantitative analysis, conducts interviews, and helps to develop proposals and recommendations for Exiger Advisory clients.
- Consultants at Exiger are compliance officers accountable for project execution, business development, product development, people management and client portfolio management. In addition, Consultants are an integral part of Exiger as a FCC advisory practice in the delivery of high quality products and services to clients. Consultants have developed has a sound understanding of the different fields in Financial crime compliance (FCC) including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Fraud and Investigations, Anti-Bribery & Corruptions as well as other criminal offenses

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for executing engagements in the following areas: Compliance Program Assessments, AML Transaction Analysis (Look Back), AML Know Your Customer Due Diligence, AML Enterprise-Wide and Customer Risk Assessments, AML and Sanctions Training, AML and Sanctions Independent Testing and Technology Consulting.
- This includes undertaking thorough analysis and research, leading small teams of colleagues responsible for conducting client work, and helping to develop proposals, reports, recommendations and other deliverables.
- Identify capability gaps and create a business case to fulfill gaps in client’s AML program. The business case should be multi-faceted including: the competitive landscape, the need, costs, execution plan and the development of an ROI.
- Delivers analytical work on a wide range of cases. Team members are expected to provide high quality work-product as needed while also providing insights and recommendations to other team members.

**Business Development & Growth**:

- Ability to identify sales opportunities.
- Play an active role in managing client relationships, influencing expectations, and ensuring satisfaction in area of responsibility.
- Develop an understanding of the client business challenges and helps formulate solutions for client needs.

**Product Knowledge & Development**:

- Develop and maintain an understanding of Exiger’s business units and solutions.
- Contribute to technical oversight of all compliance, risk and governance advisory work conducted by teams within areas of responsibility.
- Develop thought leadership on the impact of emerging risk issues and changes in the regulatory landscape on the operations of financial institutions and corporations in order to help clients proactively identify and address future compliance, risk and governance issues.
- Maintain an effective professional network to stay abreast of developments within the industry.
- Maintain an understanding of the regulatory environment, regulatory drivers and business strategies to enable effective evaluation of governance, risk management and compliance environments in financial institutions and corporations.

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships.
- Leadership, people management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess client’s requirements and develop a strategic plan to design, document and deliver a solution that meets those requirements.
- Ability to organize and effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, yet flexible enough to respond quickly to critical issues.
- Ability to be resilient and adaptable on projects in order to execute in spite of complexities and complications.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience of banking preferred, insurance and asset management considered.
- Ideally strong FCC experience with all three disciples: AML, Sanctions and ABC, but other FCC skills will be considered.
