We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Maintenance/Handyman Worker to maintain the buildings, equipment & machinery, grounds, gardens and surrounds of Fairhaven in line with the mission and values of The Salvation Army.

This is a permanent full-time position based at our Gold Coast Recovery Services Fairhaven.

You will successfully
- Maintain gardens, lawns, watering systems, sewerage treatment plant, rainwater and bore water pumping facilities, paths and driveways of Fairhaven
- Ensure lawns are mowed, leaves, branches and debris are removed from grounds and pathways cleaned on a regular basis
- Ensure excess rubbish and vegetation are transported safely and disposed as required
- Oversee the maintenance of gardening equipment and assist with general property maintenance and cleaning as required
- Ensure gardening equipment is operational and in safe working order, using appropriate fuels and lubricants on machinery
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to assist in facilitating a cohesive workplace

You will have
- Qualifications in Horticulture or equivalent
- Minimum 2+ years experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated sound knowledge across all key areas of competence in landscape gardening and general maintenance
- Sound knowledge in the use of gardening equipment
- Knowledge of gardening maintenance
- Current First Aid Certificate
- A valid Drivers Licence
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
