Lambton, Australia Prodigy Dance Australia Full time

**This Is NOT Your Typical Dance Teacher Role**

Join the team that’s redefining dance education in Newcastle.

At Prodigy Dance Australia, we do things differently.

We’re not about perfection. We’re about confidence, courage, and joy.

We’re a pastel rainbow kind of place—with structure and soul. Where kids light up the room, parents feel supported, and teachers know they’re part of something meaningful.

We’re looking for a brave, passionate, unforgettable dance teacher to join our team—someone who sees teaching as more than just steps and counts. Someone who understands that when a child feels seen, they grow into someone fearless.

This is not a fill-in-a-few-hours gig.

This is for someone who wants to make a lasting impact in children’s lives, work in a team that feels like purpose, and be led by a studio owner (hi, I’m Miss Jessi) who actually gives a damn about your growth.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- Casual or part-time, with potential to grow
- Teach a mix of recreational and competition-level classes (based on experience)
- Work with students aged 2 to 16, across styles like Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap or Acro
- Contribute to our studio events, concerts and comp season
- Be part of a team that values feedback, creativity, and clear communication
- Attend occasional team meetings, planning days, and professional development sessions (they’re fun, promise)
**WHO YOU ARE**
- An experienced teacher (or a rising star) who brings energy, heart and accountability
- Confident in class management and lesson planning—but flexible when things shift
- You actually love working with kids and know how to build connection, not just choreography
- Comfortable communicating with parents when needed and collaborating with our admin & teaching team
- A valid WWCC (or ready to get one)

Bonus points if you:

- Have concert or comp experience (choreography, team coaching, costuming etc.)
- Are trained in multiple styles and open to a varied timetable
- Have completed dance teaching certifications or modules (but not essential - we’re more after the right vibe than a piece of paper you may have)
**WHY PRODIGY?**
- We teach with purpose, not pressure
- We value growth—yours, and our students’
- We keep things joyful, polished, and professional
- You’ll be supported by a Director who’s all in—but also believes in protecting your energy and making this sustainable

Your ideas matter here. Your voice matters here. You matter here.
**HOW TO APPLY**

If your heart’s beating faster and you’re thinking “this is what I’ve been looking for”—then we want to hear from you.

Subject line: “Dance Teacher Application - [Your Name]”

Attach:

- A short cover letter telling us about you (not your whole CV—your vibe, your values, your spark)
- Your resume or dance background
- Bonus: A quick video introduction or short clip of you teaching (optional, but we love seeing you in action)

We’re hiring in the next 7-10 days for a June start—but the right person is worth the wait.
If you’ve read this far, trust your gut and apply.

Because at Prodigy, we believe in creating spaces where kids shine—and teachers thrive too.
