Audience & Participation Coordinator
About the role
Audience and Participation is a new team within the Brand and Commercial department at RISING, focused on diversifying audiences, removing barriers to participation, and building a culture of inclusive practice and participation at RISING. Reporting to the Head of Audience and Participation, the Audience and Participation Coordinator develops and manages the resources needed to fulfil RISING’s community-related objectives and reinforce the message that RISING is a festival you do. Working alongside Creative and Delivery teams, you help further best practice community engagement across the festival.
You are a natural collaborator with a strong commitment to equity, access, and inclusion. You are passionate about meaningful representation, will build a broader awareness for RISING and inspire participation from Melbourne’s myriad local communities. You’re a strategic thinker and know how to seek out, develop and maintain a range of external relationships. You’ll be the connective tissue between community groups and the festival via genuine engagement with underrepresented communities. You’ll work with the Head of Audience and Participation to ensure inclusive and accessible practice is at the heart of our communication and audience and participation outreach activities.
You have high standards and sound judgement, but you also recognise you work with human beings, so you’re flexible, open and a problem solver. You’re adaptable to a fluctuating workload and a dynamic, demanding work environment.
RISING supports flexible working arrangements for staff and a hybrid office/WFH model is currently in place. The RISING office is situated at Level 2, 377 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
