About this role

Overview of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Australia lead Controller (Associate), this role involves corporate accounting, financial and regulatory reporting activities in Australia, as well as providing local representation for global finance operations. This will involve analytics to aid consolidated group reporting as well as the production of board reports and statutory accounts.

Primary areas of responsibility include:

- Support the monthly legal entity closing processes and working closely with Finance functional teams based in Asia Pacific and Europe.
- Review reporting packages and month-end reconciliations produced by Finance operations hub in India.
- Preparation of statutory and regulatory returns and ensuring that all finance operations, such as revenue bookings, payments and record keeping meet all regulatory requirements.
- Assist tax teams in Australia, India and Edinburgh with corporate and tax related queries.
- Be an effective conduit between local partners and centralized support teams.
- Support finance process optimizations, technology agenda and finance initiatives.

Experience and Skills
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field with 2 or more years of experience in Financial Services Industry and/ or Accounting
- Knowledge of IFRS (Australia), US GAAP and local tax rules.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Positive attitude with the willingness to continuously learn and improve.
- Self-starter and ability to collaborate across various teams locally and offshore.
- Ability to multi-task, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
