Sewerage Operations Technician

**The role**:
The role of the Sewerage Network Technician is to contribute to the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of South East Water’s sewerage networks. This field and office based role will ensure the sewerage network is operating correctly and in accordance with industry practices and standards, facilitate maintenance and co-ordinate repairs or emergency response.
The team operates within a 24/7 service environment and provides planned and emergency response to minimise disruption of services to customers and as well as ensuring that public health and the environment are not put at risk. The role will also be required for incident support as needed.

**Who are you?**:

- Water Operations Certificate 3 or trade qualification (fitter, plumbing etc.) or relevant water industry experience. Demonstrated knowledge and experience across water and sewer operations
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work within a team to complete tasks efficiently and effectively
- Good communication skills with the ability to present and discuss complex information especially when dealing directly with customers, with the ability to influence others and gain their cooperation
- Negotiation skills on matters such as the resolution of customer issues using a sound sense of judgement, tack and diplomacy
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Have the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems related to the sewerage network and provide innovative solutions or process improvements
- Ability to accept change and independently seek research and implement opportunities for improvement
- Demonstrated decision making skills both operationally and within project work
