A Snapshot

As a Senior Design Manager, you will report to the Australian Technical Director and work closely with the rest of the Customer Solutions, Design and Innovation Team (CSDI), making your mark in a number of ways:

- You are the key unit in making sure we deliver to our customers as we say; on time and on budget
- You act as project technical lead on a number of projects within Australia.
- You act as the lead design manager on a new campus. From concept design, DA submission and through detailed design.
- You will manage the design delivery with consultants, general contractors and internal stakeholders. You will lead the concept design phase and scoping of customer centric solutions by engaging with hyperscale customers to develop unique solutions.
- You will be collaborating with and be supported by the APAC AirTrunk Design team to drive innovation and challenge industry norms.

Your Day to Day
- Lead a project design team from inception to delivery of multi-MW hyperscale solutions
- Interface with our top cloud and enterprise customers and communicate presentations on all aspects of design
- Develop high level master planning, space planning and engineering solutions for potential new developments (feasibility stage)
- Interface with D&C GCs and consultants to develop designs from feasibility stage through concept, scheme and detailed design stages, ensuring continuity of design philosophy and approach
- Oversee the technical aspects of direct procured equipment and facilitate their interface with the design team
- Understand the commercial implications of engineering decisions and develop designs to work with commercial boundaries
- Contribute to AirTrunk's internal technical learning and strategic projects in your area of expertise.

**Requirements**:

- You have experience acting as a project design lead in consultancy or contractor role leading a group of designers to deliver design packages
- You have a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- You have detailed design experience in building services.
- Sydney Based
- You have an understanding of multi-disciplinary building services design
- You have experience interfacing with architects and contractors within the Australian market
- Ideally, you have experience working for a data centre operator and previous hyperscale design and cloud experience in the APAC market
- You are incredibly flexible and adaptable to a dynamic fast-paced, collaborative environment
- You are willing to make decisions and be accountable for them
- You excel at communication; you can deliver effective presentations on data centre operations to customers, peers and management
- You have good leadership acumen to lead multi-disciplinary teams
