Residential Care Worker

**Role Overview**:
We are looking for compassionate and experienced Residential Care Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide personalized support to a client with highly complex needs and behaviors, focusing on their safety, well-being, and fostering their independence. This position requires experience, flexibility, attention to detail, and patience, as you will be working with a client with an acquired brain injury who experiences frequent behavioral escalations and seizures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver high-quality care and support to the client in a Supported Independent Living environment.
- Assist the client with daily living activities, including personal care, bowel care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement and adhere to a care plan tailored to the client's needs and preferences.
- Support the client in managing complex behaviors, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Safely and efficiently perform manual handling tasks.
- Foster a positive and respectful relationship with the client, their family, and other stakeholders.
- Document and report on the client’s progress and any incidents as required.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent.
- Experience working with clients with complex behaviors and needs.
- Experience working with clients with conditions such as epilepsy and ABI.
- Strong understanding of manual handling techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including potential sleepover shifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, compassionate, and patient demeanor.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- National Police Check, NDISWC, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

**Desirable**:

- Experience in a Supported Independent Living setting.
- Experience working with complex needs and behaviors.
- Additional relevant qualifications or training in disability support

Pay: $42.28 per hour
