**The Opportunity**
We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer on a full time basis. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager the primary objective of this position is to support the Finance, People and Culture and wider business in the smooth processing of fortnightly payruns and overall operation of the payroll function. In addition to processing end-to-end payroll, this position has a responsibility to the team in identifying, driving and supporting process improvements and efficiencies within the payroll process.
Some of the key responsibilities within this role will be:
- End -to-end fortnightly payroll processing for payment (including STP uploads);
- Payrun reviews and reconciliation of all appropriate deductions and fortnightly payroll reporting;
- Support the Payroll Manager when preparing monthly superannuation
- Responding to employee queries regarding pay and terms and conditions in a timely and accurate manner;
- Create and maintain staff profiles in Chris21 / iChris and Humanforce
- Assist the Payroll Manager in other ad hoc duties and reporting as required
**About You**
- Chris21 experience is essential
- Experience with time and attendance software Humanforce will be highly regarded
- Experience with enterprise grade payroll systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to complete V Look Ups, Pivot Tables and Reporting
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in payroll principles, practices regulations and procedures
- Previous experience working with and interpreting Modern Awards and EBAs
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when dealing with financial and employee matters
- Ability to work well in a team and learn new systems.
- Excellent communication skills, coupled with the ability to build effective relationships with your stakeholders
- Effective time management skills
