Easy Authoring is seeking an experienced Database Administrator who plans, develops, and manages all system database operations.

**Purpose of the role**
The role is also responsible for installing, configuration, upgrades, administration, monitoring and maintenance of databases. The role will also seek continuous improvement in databases' performance and the tools and processes for database administration.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Monitor, maintain and co-ordinate databases including archiving, backup, database optimizing, reindexing, initiating recovery procedures and troubleshooting.
- Design and manage automated and manual operations and procedures for maintenance of databases, interface to other systems
- Monitor database performance and usage, including response times, to optimise the delivery of database services including improving and enhancing T&I reporting systems and databases
- Develop and implement strategies to minimise data redundancy and make data available to users in a controlled manner.
- Undertake the investigation and resolution of technical problems and troubleshooting involving the Central System and databases.
- Confirming that database changes and enhancements are progressed on agreed schedules and quality software development and documentation standards and procedures are followed.

**Essential criteria**:

- Proven experience as a Database Administrator / DBA
- In depth Skills with SQL Server and or Oracle Databases
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience

**Desirable criteria**:

- Prior experience with Government would be very highly regarded but not essential.
