Why this role matters

As the Youth Ministry Coordinator you will oversee all current Youth (from Y7 to Y12) ministries and facilitate new Youth ministry opportunities within the Corps and the community, in line with the Corps vision of “Hope, Freedom Transformation through Jesus” as well as with TSA mission.

This is a fixed-term part-time position, 22 hours a week, for 12 months.

The role you could play
- Oversee, develop, support and champion all programming for high school aged Youth on Fridays, Saturdays (as required) and Sundays throughout the year
- Lead, empower and coordinate Youth Leadership Team
- Communicate all events and programming with Youth, parents and office staff in a timely manner
- Coordinate, identify and develop leaders and Youth with potential to serve in ministries and program
- Develop smooth transition for kids moving into Youth and then Youth transitioning to Young Adults
- Oversee yearly NBC Youth camp
- Maintain a strategy of welcoming and connecting new attendees into North Brisbane Youth Ministries

What you will bring
- 2-3+ years experience in Youth Ministries
- Sound level of computer literacy
- Formal qualifications pertaining to ministry within The Salvation Army or extensive practical experience
- Active Salvation Army Soldier or willingness to move towards Soldiership
- Driver’s licence
- Bus licence or willingness to obtain bus licence
- Blue card
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance and have the ability to offer prayer and explain the Christian gospel- An understanding of and empathy with the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
