Parramatta Marist High School is a Catholic school with a history and tradition spanning 200 years. Since 1875 it has been shaped by the Marist charism, one that flows from a basic trust in God and a desire to follow Christ in the way of Mary. Our pedagogy is based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom through a collaborative approach in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and Team-Teaching.

Applications are invited for a skilled, contemporary and passionate temporary Religious Education Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students.

**Key focus areas**

The Secondary Religious Education Teacher will fit the following criteria:

- Demonstrate an ability to critically select each of these appropriate to each student's stage of development and challenge students to be witnesses of faith by providing them appropriate activities in formation.
- Develop an understanding of our pedagogy based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom.
- Plan for and implement effective learning and teaching by negotiating with students to develop individual, explicit, challenging and achievable learning goals.
- Design conceptually coherent learning programmes using research evidence and appropriate teaching strategies.
- Analyse and evaluate a student's learning by using a range of strategies for providing feedback in relation to the student's current and future learning.
- Being a Witness to Faith, they are committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice by using professional teaching standards and key educational and Church documents to evaluate regularly their professional knowledge, practice and engagement. The Religious Education teacher takes opportunities for personal professional learning and regular formation for mission.
