Production Operator

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the operator will be responsible for:

- Performing molten material tasks
- Upholding and adhering to all safety procedures on site, identify and assess risk when necessary
- Work with physical assets, plant and equipment as defined by the Operation’s standards and operating procedures
- Monitor molten material quality via sampling and temperature monitoring
- Safely undertake operation of the overhead gantry crane operations
- Perform minor process maintenance on furnace equipment (casting machine system, launder refractory maintenance etc)
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the furnace building and surrounding areas via hosing, shovelling and use of mobile equipment
- Complete equipment pre-start inspections, inspect equipment such as mud gun, drill, poker, fume extraction, casting machine, overhead crane, skips and lifting equipment.
- Highly aware of safety requirements within high risk environments
- Reliable with an exceptional work ethic
- Ability to work a rotating shift (4 shifts on (2 days 2 nights), 4 days off)
- Physically able to undertake tasks requiring manual handling
- Ability to complete tasks involving close contact with high temperature molten materials
- Bridge and gantry crane ticket, would be helpful Forklift, bobcat ticket and HR licence desirable.
