Rústico Tapas & Wine Bar is a buzzing, hole-in-the-wall beach side tapas bar. Situated on the beautiful Rockingham Foreshore, this little slice of Spain serves up award winning food and warm, friendly service.

Our menu is a foodies’ heaven Paired with ocean views, you too will enjoy our relaxed atmosphere serving customers in the brightly coloured walls of the restaurant or the treelined, street-side alfresco area when the sun is shining. Enjoy building relationships with our long-term regular patrons and impressing first time diners.

Rústico Tapas & Wine Bar is currently looking for highly skilled and experienced Wait Staff for various positions, in particular:

- Maître d
- Formal Service Wait Staff

Your passion for good food, wine and service will see you excel, being a part of a team which provides the patron a 5 star experience. Quality is of utmost importance, a reputation of high standard service precedes your role with us.

Your role will include:

- Customer service - ensuring patron’s needs are met and exceeded; presenting menus, beverage lists and water upon seating; taking food and drink orders and relaying correctly to the kitchen and bar staff; high level of product knowledge; recommending and pairing dishes and wines to compliment choices
- Technical skills - setting and arranging tables to a defined style and standard, serving food and beverages in a manner that delivers a positive experience; opening bottles and pouring beverages; attending to tables; clearing tables of dishes, cutlery and glassware.
- Quality control - accepting the role as the last quality controller in the chain between business and patrons; politely returning any products to the kitchen that is not of standard; feeding back patron comments to the appropriate manager; providing initiative and ideas on quality improvement.
- Selling and merchandising - accept your role as an active sales person and not a passive role of the service provider; practice suggestive selling and upselling at every appropriate opportunity.
- Restaurant presentation - ensure the restaurant is presented in a pristine state by maintaining your own personal presentation, wearing a name tag at all times and performing preparation duties and restaurant cleaning as per agreed procedures.
- Cash control - ensuring correct money handling procedures is followed at al times; be familiar with product prices and ensure they are charged accordingly

Furthermore, the Maître d role will also include:

- Along with the Restaurant Manager, oversee the entire front-of-house with a particular focus and responsibility of guest satisfaction.
- Greeting and farewelling patrons to a standard that will deliver a positive first and last impression
- Know your team, understand which staff are able to handle particular patrons and guests, ensure any patron dissatisfaction is dealt with in a manner that ensures the patron will want to return to us

Annual salary of $70,000 - $75,000 plus superannuation
