Casual Ranger

City is looking to expand its team of casual Rangers to support our busy team during peak periods, cover leave, and assist with proactive patrolling of our stunning beaches and parks.

The City is progressive in the way it operates so adaptability to change and a positive attitude is important.

In this role, you will mainly engage with the community by conducting proactive patrols, educating the public at our parks, reserves, and beaches, and ensuring compliance. Your duties will include checking animals for microchips and registration and taking enforcement action where necessary. You will be responsible for all other Ranger related matters as needed.

Applicants must possess the following;
- Previous experience as a Ranger.
- Certificates in Municipal Law Enforcement A&B or the equivalent Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS 1 & 2).
- Current driver's licence.
- Highly developed communication skills to negotiate professionally in conflict resolution situations.
- Computer skills to operate handheld devices and system data entry.
- Sound investigative skills.

Our Rangers Service operates 7 days a week, and the successful applicant must be able to work outside of normal office hours, weekends and some public holiday periods, at which point penalty rates would be payable.

The City will provide uniforms and equipment necessary for the role during working hours.

It is expected that the successful applicants will commence their roles early October.

**Hourly rate**: $51.90 per hour + shift penalties (where applicable).
