**About the OPPORTUNITY**

We have a new opportunity for an Electronics/Communications Technician to join our Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Sustainment program working at our Northern Territory sites in a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) arrangement.

The JORN has been a part of our nation's defence landscape for many decades and comprises three Over-The-Horizon-Radar (OTHR) systems to provide surveillance coverage of our northern border. BAE Systems has been awarded the contract to manage the sustainment and upgrade of this 100 percent Australian solution that is strategically important to Australia's security.

As part of our Fly-in Fly-out team, we will fly you to Northern Territory from one of our interstate location airport hubs and you will work in shifts (day and night shifts) of 15 days on and 13 days off. During your 15 days on you will be provided with accommodation, meals and travel and you will receive a shift allowance. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, reporting to the Maintenance Site Lead, and will be employed on a permanent basis.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Undertake preventative, corrective and deeper level maintenance activities on radar, electronics and communications equipment
- Provide support for the operations, maintenance and development of the Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Network (JORN)
- Utilise test equipment to carry out diagnostic and performance testing, including completing fault reporting requirements
- Carry out the rectification of deficiencies and defects of equipment
- Collaborate effectively and provide advice to stakeholders for the successful support and maintainability of equipment
- Analyse alarm information and systems data to diagnose performance and fault events
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve maintenance activity practices on equipment

**About YOU**
- Electronics/Communications/Radio Frequency technician experience including fault finding experience - Other technical backgrounds will also be considered
- A Certificate 3 in Electronics or extensive demonstrated Electronics technical experience
- The ability to undertake a Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) work arrangement including day and night shifts
- An Unrestricted Australian Drivers licence, the willingness to complete remote driving training course, and the ability to work from heights and work in confined spaces
- Resilient, good problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively autonomously and in a small team environment
- Whilst not essential, radio frequency (RF) technical experience or Defence industry experience as an electronics technician experience, will be highly regarded
- Good computer literacy skills, including the ability to perform technical report writing, analyse and interpret complex data and maintenance information
