**About Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3**:
Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.

As construction of GCLR3 gets under way, John Holland is actively recruiting for a talented and driven Safety Advisor join our nightshift team and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.

**About the Role**:
Allocated to full-time nightshift, you’ll be working to monitor and support the safety function under general supervision and to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems and procedures on the project.

**Responsibilities of the role include**:

- Monitor compliance with safety systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management team
- Develop and assist with the development of safety policies specific to the project
- Administer safety programs for the project
- Assist with conducting incident and accident investigations
- Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety performance
- Monitor and evaluate the success of project safety performance
- Maintain professional relationships with regulatory bodies and clients to foster the professional image of John Holland
- review high-risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work
- Support the general communication of SQE requirements to the project and its stakeholders

**To be successful in this key role, you must have**:

- Tertiary qualifications (such as a Diploma) in Work Health and Safety or equivalent
- Safety Lead Auditor qualification
- Previous experience working as a Safety Advisor or similar on large infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls
- Ability to commit to a full-time night shift role, working Sunday-Thursday
