What is the role?
AFP Operates on a Regional Operating Model, with Centralised/National services run in Canberra, and Regional based services in 5 key areas. Property is one of the Centralised areas that partners with business areas to enable operations and day-to-day functions with facilities support.
Property Command is responsible for the strategic alignment of accommodation solutions to support frontline capabilities through overseeing the AFP’s long term Property Management plan which includes, strategic leasing and accommodation planning, delivering key capital works programs, and managing the day to day operations of the national property portfolio.

Investigate and plan long term property solutions
Influence property priorities and budgets linked to the Strategic Property Plan
Provide outstanding customer service and support to the AFP and partners

Prioritise, invest and support staff development and capability
As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below. These positions are Canberra based roles.
What will you do?
Assist with the support, development, delivery and implementation of capital works projects including managing minor capital project activities
Engage with key stakeholders and form project specific relationships, to support the delivery of project outcomes in a successful and collaborative environment.
With guidance, manage project procurement, contract management activities, and participate in the negotiation of contracts and agreements, relating to the capital works projects.
With guidance, contribute to specific budget, financial, reporting and contractual administrative tasks across the team
Provide the Team Leader, Coordinator and AFP Senior Management with high quality advice and provide progress reports/briefings on capital works projects.
Pursue, develop and nurture internal and external professional networks appropriate to the Band level to support the efficient and effective management of the AFP’s capital works projects.
Maintain accurate records and comply with the reporting and other regulatory requirements of Government.
Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of procedural and process level accommodation and project artefacts, in order to achieve efficient and optimal use of AFP premises and resources.
Provide secretariat duties various internal/external committee and stakeholder meetings.
Essential Requirements
You must be an Australian Citizen.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a like or related field.
