The QEHS Coordinator role drives safety, quality performance and continuous improvement initiatives at the Fawkner Site and support the customers who purchase our products. This role assists in reviewing, enhancing, and developing effective OH&S & EHS systems, documentation, and processes. The role supports and drives safety initiatives and programs towards Zero Harm goals. This role ensures quality systems compliance and directs / assists with problem solving of all quality related issues to achieve best practice quality systems and performance. The scope of this role is Fawkner site and other Australian sites as required. Key Job Responsibilities:
Lead an effective quality management system in accordance with corporate, regulatory, and FSSC/ ISO / FSC and other required certifications.
Lead positive release and other quality control systems / processes to demonstrate “lead by example” and ensure 100% compliance.
Accountable for performance metrics including ppm, blocked stock, held goods, material damage complaint numbers and quality response time within scope of responsibility
Implement product / process quality monitoring systems ensuring customers are protected from any defects reaching the market.
Find creative ways to keep staff engaged in Quality and drive improvements
Developing and reviewing occupational health and safety system documentation/ Environment procedures such as, risk assessments, policies, procedures and manuals.
Work with the team to ensure Contractor Safety including authorizing permits, risk assessment and controls, developing policy and procedures.
Coordinating and facilitating timely, expert EHS advice and assistance to managers/supervisors in managing EHS, this will also include the promotion of EHS and leading indicators such as BBSO and Nearmiss Identification.
Analyzing EHS data to monitor accident and incident trends and provide reports as necessary. Conducting investigations of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial action.
Actively coordinate and support, training and development of machine training programs.
Ensure adequate levels of training are maintained for existing and new employees, including first aid, fire warden, emergency evacuation, fork lift, quality, machine training & hygiene
Identify EH&S training needs and ensure accurate training records are maintained About the person:
Recognized industry qualification in Quality and / or OHS/EHS or willing to undergo relevant training to attain qualification.
LSS Green belt will be advantageous
Formal qualifications in HACCP, ICAM and Lead Auditor will be viewed favorably
Demonstrated experience in FMCG manufacturing/operations role.
Self-motivated individual who will take the initiative and engage all levels of the business as required achieving the required outcome.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Integrity and honesty
Be a self-starter (able to work as part of a team and independently) who can see an Issue and tackle it with mínimal supervision.
