**How will I help?**
An Exciting opportunity is available for an Infrastructure Services Specialist - Mainframe to join the Infrastructure and Enterprise Compute Storage Services team in Group Technology. You can work flexibly while training to upskill on new tools and technologies.
Infrastructure & Operations is embarking on a new operating model putting Westpac technologists in the driving seat by investing in our Level 3 engineering skills to enable a proactive operating model.
The Infrastructure Services Specialist within the Mainframe Infrastructure Services team is required to lead and support Westpac’s complex mainframe environment within their technical expertise.
This position plays an important role in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within the Mainframe and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose.
Your key responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the Mainframe service supported by L1 partner, WBC team, vendors, and third-party suppliers, including technical delivery\validation of approved implementations and proposed configurations.
- Supporting evaluation of technical changes, validation of supplier provided quotes and proposals, and assessment of supplier provided root-cause-analysis and corrective actions.
- Providing Mainframe Infrastructure & Operations expert technical advice and superior customer service for resolution of complex problems/incidents or implementation of major changes.
- Providing and supporting Mainframe technical advice for continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Providing active support and expertise in the formulation of Infrastructure patterns and standards for effective service strategy and lifecycle planning.
- Ensuring effective support to service request governance by collaborating with partners, vendors and third-party suppliers and provides thought leadership on service improvement areas.
- Overseeing the review and validation of service requests to ensure required information has been provided, required approvals have been sought and that all requests are appropriately recorded.
- Performing demand and capacity planning by ensuring effective analysis and development of plans provided by partners, vendors, and third-party suppliers.
- Supporting in monitoring and governance of service performance management with a customer obsessed mindset.
- Engaging with vendors to track solutions through all phases and escalates issues to maintain effective governance, reporting and control.

**What do I need?**
To be successful in this role, you will have deep understanding of Mainframe Technologies, excellent communication skills and an analytical approach to problem solving.
In addition to this, your skills may include:
- Relevant IT Mainframe industry experience in a highly technical role.
- Experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment incorporating planning, implementation, operational management, configuration, and maintenance.
- Expertise within the Mainframe environment.
- Relevant technical certifications would be desirable.
