For this to occur, we need your support **A bit about the role** We are looking for a AOD Peer Worker to join our team on a casual basis at our Grampians Therapeutic Community Directly accountable to the Team Leader - Grampians Therapeutic Community, the Peer Worker works with residents of the Therapeutic Community by sharing their lived experience of treatment and recovery from substance use. This is a great opportunity to draw on your lived experience and make a difference for others. **You may be the one we are looking for if you have**: - Lived alcohol and drug experience, with preference to participating in treatment at an accredited Therapeutic Community. - A minimum of 2 years successfully engaged in work, volunteering or study after graduating from an AOD residential program or other similar treatment service - High level interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening skills and clear speaking skills, with an ability to tailor communicate style to suit the diversity of residents - Ability to maintain clear boundaries and engage in self-reflection - SHARC Peer Training For a full list of the position responsibilities, please download the position description. **The program** The Therapeutic Community (TC) residents rehabilitate from AOD by exploring their own life experiences and learning from the experience and insights of others. In education, therapy, and work groups which form the basis of the daily routine everyone has an opportunity to explore new ways of experiencing life. The TC is all about change and growth in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
