What is the role?
Business Services sits within the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Command. It is a multifaceted branch, which directly contributes to AFP operational outcomes, providing support and enabling our people to deliver maximum impact to the criminal environment. We are responsible for developing an innovative Enterprise rostering solution, delivering a new time recording solution, rostering and planning software - Quintiq.
Quintiq enhance the AFPS’s enterprise wide rostering capability that supports increased workforce visibility, flexibility, improves rostering practices, promotes consistency, aligns with better practice. Quintiq will be used for time recording and rostering, supervisors and planners will work closely together to achieve operational outcomes
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Member - Quintiq Plannning and Rostering.
The Team Members - Quintiq Planning and Rostering are responsible for coordinating and planning members and Operational Officers to ensure operational requirements are met. These positions are based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?
The Planner role is varied and interesting and provides the opportunity to develop your skills in planning and supporting members and operational officers. You will be required to complete the following tasks on a daily basis:
Maintain support, operational and rostered operations working patterns
Develop rostering plans in Quintiq and make changes as required to support operational requirements, in a high tempo and dynamic working environment
Provide fairness and transparency to all rostering decisions whilst prioritising member welfare and fatigue alongside operational requirements
Fill vacant shifts within a 24/7 environment to ensure operations numbers are met and are compliant with the EA and Better Practice Guides
Build and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and members
Provide advice and direction to members regarding EA compliance and rostering guidelines
Proven ability to work flexibly and achieve outcomes in a busy and challenging environment
Schedule and minimise disruptions to roster pattern and reallocating resources to assist
Maintain contemporary knowledge of the business rules and operational requirements
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills to manage multiple tasks, changing deadlines and priorities.
