As the Store Manager you will manage the daily recycling, retail and administrative functions of the Family Store in line with The Salvation Army (TSA) mission and values.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Stafford.
The role you could play
- Provide management of the Store’s day to day operations, ensuring it is presentable, provides excellent customer service and has adequate stock. This includes disposal of inappropriate and unsold stock
- Model and encourage a strong focus and commitment to outstanding customer service
- Regularly review the Store’s performance, looking for opportunities for growth, improvement and promotion, and updating the Corps Officer with ideas or proposed plans for consideration
- Employ a wide range of marketing opportunities including on-line, delegating to workers for implementation
- Process the Store’s income, including handling and banking money, in accordance with TSA’s policies and procedures
- Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and cooperation
What you will bring
- Proven experience in retail management, ideally 5+ years
- Demonstrated people management skills with an emphasis on volunteers and the community
- Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people
- Self-motivated and a strong work ethic
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Team player, flexible and with a positive attitude
- Experience in mentoring/training and managing staff
- Current valid driver’s licence
- Current first aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check-Your life at the Salvos
