Strategic Analyst

An exciting opportunity for a Strategic Analyst - Business Intelligence (BI) has become available within our Functional and Investment Controlling team. You will facilitate the implementation of innovative and future-proof BI solutions, creating an infrastructure to support the broader BI community, and bridging the gap between legacy and new systems and projects.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Bridge the gap between functional controlling and strategy, combining and connecting quantitative data with qualitative information
- Provide decision-making support, contributing to the design and development of reporting packages, KPIs, monitoring tools, financial simulations including the development of business cases
- Drive the development and tracking of value-adding strategies and data-driven decision making
- Demonstrate autonomous initiative to serve as a stand-alone functional controlling expert responsible for driving performance and generate valued added insights for their own domain of responsibility
- Develop financial modelling to support business cases and other initiatives, and provide advice on the viability (EBIT, NPV, MIRR, EVA, ROI, Payback, etc.) of proposed initiatives
- Lead the business in building analytical models that drive business strategy, and provide insights to relevant stakeholders, including potential financial implications
- Develop consistent tools, reporting methods and best practice processes and procedures that provide high quality and consistently accurate outputs to support simple and effective solutions
- Drive insight-led analytics relating to the evaluation of a broad range of business initiatives

**Selection criteria**:

- Demonstrated experience in business partner / functional controlling roles with
- Proven history of commercially significant actionable insights across multiple domains
- CA/CPA or related tertiary qualification highly regarded
- Excellent data analysis and modelling skills
- Comprehensive Controlling knowledge: best practice planning and forecasting, reporting methods, tools, and processes
- SQL, CBIS and/or SAP experience desirable, but not essential
- Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly in Excel
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge about Retail processes and key drivers highly regarded
