DOMESTIC HELPER/WORKER

The Domestic Helper provides essential household support to NDIS participants to help them live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes. This role focuses on assisting participants with daily household tasks, maintaining cleanliness, and creating a positive, respectful environment that aligns with their individual NDIS goals and preferences.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform general household duties such as:

- Cleaning and tidying living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens
- Washing, drying, ironing, and folding laundry
- Dishwashing and organizing household items
- Changing bed linen and making beds
- Emptying bins and maintaining household hygiene
- Assist participants with light meal preparation if required.
- Ensure the participant’s home is safe and hygienic at all times.
- Respect participant’s privacy, dignity, and cultural preferences.
- Follow infection control procedures and workplace health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate daily support notes, timesheets, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and support coordinators.
- Report any changes in participant’s environment or wellbeing to the supervisor.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Experience in domestic assistance, housekeeping, or cleaning (preferred).
- Current **NDIS Worker Screening Check** (or willingness to obtain).
- Current **Police Check** and **Working with Children Check** (if applicable).
- Current **First Aid and CPR Certificate** (preferred).
- COVID-19 vaccination (as per NDIS and provider requirements).
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle (preferred).
