**The Opportunity**

Orrcon Steel is looking for a Mechanical Leading Hand in our manufacturing team based in O’Sullivan Beach. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally_ _recognised brands.

**What Will You Do?**

Reporting to the Reliability Lead, you will lead and mentor a high performing team in a dynamic and exciting manufacturing environment. In doing so, you will:

- respond promptly to breakdowns of all plant and equipment.
- maintain, and enhance, the effectiveness of Maintenance processes (including computer systems) to maximise efficiency, productivity and cost effectiveness
- support large scale industrial capital projects with the assistance of your team
- ensure safety standards are adhered to, making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified
- manage maintenance costs
- supervise and lead the maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
- establish a culture of continuous improvement to eliminate waste and improve team performance

As an enthusiastic and motivated leader, you will demonstrate a willingness to develop your team in achieving success. You will bring:

- trade qualifications or degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- experience in a heavy industrial environment with reviewing and developing of maintenance plans
- experience in large scale industrial project management
- proven experience in a leadership role
- an ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
- ability to coach and develop others to enhance capability
- a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
