Head of Apparel

ASICS have an exciting opportunity to join our Product team as a Head of Apparel. Reporting to the General Manager of Product, this role will lead the processes in merchandising, planning, designing, developing and delivering relevant ranges to hit ASICS’ business targets across both global inline and regional licensed products.

**So, what goes into making that happen?**
- Integrate global seasonal apparel strategies into the Oceania business, adopting global lines with a regional lens
- Leading the Apparel Product team, with a focus on strategic growth, fostering professional development and performance, and attention to detail in every aspect of the department
- Relaying the overall merchandising plan to all internal stakes holders and working with the sales teams to ensure that the necessary product cover exists (styles, colour, price points) to enable apparel growth through new and existing channels
- Building the assortments to fulfill the needs of retail channels, communicating to all relevant stakeholders to ensure a consistent category and channel consumer experience
- Developing wholesale and retail pricing, ensuring sign off process is complete, and prices loaded prior to sell in
- Analysing sales figures/trends to anticipate future product needs and in turn shape ranges accordingly
- Building contracts for regional suppliers including quality control, accuracy, sustainability and flexibility
- Oversee the design, development, global approval and production of regional licensed and SMU programs
- Lead seasonal feedback and insights on the Oceania business and point of view when completing seasonal briefing and feedback documents for global consultation
- Being engaged with all our customers and ensuring that we are the voice of authority for the Asics consumer experience, while helping to drive consumer engagement programs with key stakeholders
- Build and update the competitor and consumer insights matrix
- Conducting final warehouse quality control for all incoming product
- Curating the right assortment and gross margins to ensure that all category targets (net sales by channel, gross profit margins, sustainability etc) are met in the process
- Ensuring the right merchandise is in rights channels at the right time with a consistent technology narrative across inline and licensed product

**That’s enough about us Here’s what we hope to see from you**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with in sportswear
- Demonstrated experience in leading high performing, capable teams
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and rapport building skills
- Initiative and ability to work with mínimal direct supervision
- A disciplined and professional approach
- Familiarity using processes and systems (Microsoft Office, Excel intermediate, SAP desirable)
- High level of familiarity with Adobe Suite (in-design/illustrator)
- Ability to deliver results in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to maximise customer retention through developing relationships with key accounts
- Ability to think strategically and identify key opportunities within the marketplace
