**Summary**:
Assigned responsibility for a specific portion of the project’s scope and effectively operates as the “sub-project manager” for that scope. Role commences in the project home office in Perth, WA then follows the work to the field on a FIFO roster.

Assists project management in coordinating and administering a project from project planning, engineering, and procurement through construction and start-up. Establishes and maintains liaison with the customer throughout the project to resolve problems and coordinate functions. Participates in planning and establishing schedules, forecasts, budgets, parameters, etc., and monitors progress to ensure schedules are met and work is performed within budget.

In the project home office integrates engineering, procurement, and contract preparation for relevant area scope. Responsible for completion of these activities in accordance with approved project schedule, budget and execution plan and to quality standard. Ensures that deviations from plan are identified, reported and mitigated. Supervises the engineering activity for the designated portion of the project.

In the construction phase may be assigned to the field construction organization in a managerial position. Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility. Coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations. Responsible to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, safe completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.

- Collaborates in developing and documenting the project Scope of Work, Execution Plan, budget, and schedule.
- Drives area related value improvement and capital intensity initiatives to completion.
- Works with Engineering for quantity tracking and reporting through the full project cycle.
- Keeps project management informed of project status, highlighting deviations from plan. Anticipates potential problem areas and analyzes and recommends solutions or corrective action.
- Responsible for overall supervision of personnel in assigned area of responsibility.
- Ensures performance evaluations are conducted on assigned personnel and counseling programs are maintained.
- For area of responsibility inputs to and owns the project capital estimate, quantities and budgets.
- Develops area design and procurement schedules for approval.
- Directs and coordinates engineering activities for assigned area of project.
- Coordinates engineering effort with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) and Project Controls.
- Monitors and controls development of the design for scope evolution and quantity growth and identifies project change, raises trend notices and change orders as required showing all forecast impacts in a timely manner.
- Ensures extent and detail of engineering documentation to be developed is consistent with what is required to support the intended execution and contracting plan.
- Owns and drives the milestone design reviews for areas of responsibility during the design phase, ensuring areas are ready for review, design and HAZOP actions are captured, addressed and closed out between reviews and prior to IFC deliverable release.
- Owns and drives the Constructability reviews for area of responsibility during the design phase, ensuring all reviews are documented and previous Lessons Learned from similar projects are incorporated.
