Our **Technical, Advisory, and Capability**practice and **Team Downer**serves as one of the Major Service Providers delivering consulting services and Integrated Work Packages across the Department of Defence, leveraging innovative approaches such as mission and digital engineering to enable the successful delivery of critical Defence programs.

This includes collaboration with key Defence entities, including **Defence Digital Group (DDG), National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG),**and branches across the **Navy, Army, and Air Force**.

We are currently seeking an experienced **Shipyard Facilities Assurance Officer**for our consulting services and Integrated Work Packages.

If successful in securing a role, your work may involve:

- **Contract Management**- Serve as the primary contact for all facilities-related contracts (security, landscaping, waste management, maintenance, and projects), ensuring compliance with agreed terms and shipyard requirements.
- **Facility Assurance & Governance**- Develop and implement assurance plans, audit protocols, governance frameworks, issue registers, and escalation pathways to support integrated operations.
- **Budgeting & Financial Management**- Manage the DCE facilities budget, overseeing cost estimation, tracking, and adherence to financial guidelines.
- **Facility Readiness & Infrastructure Oversight**- Lead assurance for shipyard infrastructure (laydown, workshops, services, security zones), ensuring proper design intent, handover, and commissioning, while supporting DCE licensing and infrastructure scheduling.
- **Decommissioning & Post-Project Planning**- Develop decommissioning strategies for assets and capital expenditures following ship one completion.
- **Engineering or Facility Management qualification**(e.g. Civil, Electrical, Safety, Security)
- **Facilities Assurance & Compliance Expertise**- Proven experience managing infrastructure compliance programs within Defence, shipbuilding, or secure industrial precincts, with a strong grasp of Commonwealth facility governance frameworks and Defence assurance regimes (DSPF, DISP, ISO 9001/27001).
- **Leadership in Complex Environments**- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional site teams in high-risk settings, ensuring operational effectiveness and adherence to compliance standards.
- **Stakeholder & Governance Management**- Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting skills, particularly within Defence acquisition and sustainment programs, driving effective communication and strategic alignment.

Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary.
