The Banking Code Compliance team at AFCA monitors compliance with the Banking Code of Practice across the sector. By driving best practice, its aim is to improve standards of service in the Australian Banking industry - ultimately helping the sector to create a better experience for customers. The Code team is a separately operated and funded business unit of AFCA working for five independent Committees, including the Banking Code Governance Committee (CGC).

The role of **Code Compliance Analyst** reports to the Senior Code Compliance Analyst and will support the work of an independent committee to monitor compliance with the Banking Code of Practice and drive best practice in the industry. The role involves participating in and contributing to monitoring practices to identify problems, recommending improvements and reporting publicly on findings. The role will be responsible for supporting the CGC by providing high quality data and compliance analysis, monitoring and reporting on Code compliance and investigating Code breach allegations.

There are 2 maternity leave cover roles, one an 8-month max term contract and the other an 18-month max term contract.

**Typically, in this role you will**:

- Analyse qualitative and quantitative information to identify emerging problems and understand their significance
- Provide compliance research as well as other duties on behalf of the CGC
- Monitor and report on Code compliance by contributing to compliance programs and monitoring activities
- Conduct compliance investigations, and assist with targeted Inquiries
- Provide committee secretariat support
- Engage and liaise with stakeholders including Code subscribers and consumer advocacy groups
- Any other duties reasonably expected of the role

**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you’ll come equipped with:

- Experience in the banking and finance industry or financial services or have regulatory and compliance experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team
