**Position title: Disability Support Worker** (Skill development support) (Behaviour Support) (Travel and Transport)(Incident Management & safety) (Disability Support Work)

**Reports to**(position)**:Managing Director

**Date**: June 2025

**Primary purpose of the position**:
Disability Support Workers who have a deep understanding and respect for the Aboriginal culture and it's people to work with a behaviour support, incident management and safety, physical transport and supervision for people with autism, physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

**Specific accountabilities**
- Assisting with travel and transport arrangements
- Assist with Daily Personal Care
- Assist in skill development
- Be responsible for some household task
- Behaviour Support
- Incident Management & safety
- Helping with travel to outings, social and other activities

**Performance measure**
- Demonstrate the Aboriginal cultural awareness
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Experience prescribing a range of disability equipment
- Demonstrated high level of problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently (as required) and exercise initiative
- Commitment to providing a client focused service in a timely, consistent, co-ordinated and flexible manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing issues that living with a disability presents at various life stages
- Flexible, family-friendly culture that will enable you to balance family and work obligations

**Person Specification**

**Education/Qualifications**:
**Desirable**

Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) or a
Certificate IV in Disability (CHC43115)

or at least 2 years experience as Disability Support Worker

**Skills/Knowledge**

**Essential**
- Valid, Full Driver’s licence
- Primary form of ID and secondary form(s) of ID with a value equals to 100 points of ID
- Working with Children Check and Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Program and COVID-19 training

**Desirable**
- A First Aid Certificate
- A CPR Certificate
- Medication training
- Excellent driving record

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $33.96 - $41.76 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- Working with people with intellectual disability: 1 year (required)
