**Your role**
As a casework specialist you work could include:
**District Casework Specialist** - As a Casework Specialist you will work alongside casework teams to promote good practice and support continuous improvement in service delivery. You will achieve this by supporting quality practice casework and provide direct practice based professional support and development to practitioners to improve outcomes for children and families.
**High-Cost Emergency Arrangements Casework Specialist** - you will work alongside casework teams to promote good practice and support the exit of children from high
- cost emergency arrangements.
**Office of the Senior Practitioner Review Team -**working within the Office of the Senior Practitioner to complete reviews based on district and other executive requests.
**What you’ll do**
Your day will include, but not limited to the following:
- Perform casework and case manage allocated families to maintain contemporary practice and role model best practice for caseworkers.
- Work alongside caseworkers directly with children, young people and their families to model and coach best practice.
- Providing specialist advice to all levels of management and staff on case practice matters and specialised assistance in complex or sensitive cases.
- Taking on the consultant role in regular casework team group supervision and in leadership group supervision.
- Providing one to one or group support to new caseworkers upon their completion of the Caseworker Development Program (CDP).
- Working with caseworkers and managers, modelling, coaching, and mentoring them to develop case practice skills and knowledge that are responsive to the changing needs of children, young people and families.
- Developing and maintaining networks and relationships to influence good practice and draw on contemporary evidence-based practice research and resources.
**What we’re looking for**
- Demonstrated skills in case management and working with children and families.
- Demonstrated skills in putting the child at the centre of your work and be recognised as someone who is a practice leader in child protection and works collaboratively across the system to create safety and met the needs of children and families.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of people to influence and guide good practice.
- The ability to deal with sensitive, complex issues appropriately and confidentially.
- A strong ethical approach to practice and your role as a Practice Leader.
- Work with and mentor caseworkers and managers in a planned and coordinated manner to role model and develop case practice skills that is responsive to the changing needs of children, young people and families.
- Previous experience in a Human Services role where you have had experience in providing comprehensive advice on complex case reviews.
- The ability to work independently and in a team.
- An ability to show initiative, set priorities and manage a workload.
- Ability to work across a district to support the operational needs of units.
- Current driver’s licence as occasional travel will be required.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
