As an integral member of the Energy Markets team, you will undertake modelling and deliver forecasts across the full range of service offerings including the operation of energy markets, power station pre-feasibility and industry issues.

**Responsibilities**
- Working with the energy markets teams to establish the relevant models, assumptions, and information required to enable effective and optimal forecasting and planning for the immediate and long-term strategy
- Identifying opportunities for further improvements in planning and forecasting processes; scope, recommend and deliver as appropriate
- Ensure the appropriate review of information variance is undertaken including root cause analysis and development of mitigation plans covering people, processes, systems, and metrics
- Leverage the availability of new technology to enhance the forecasting accuracy and quality of the insight offered
- Provide business development support to allow new initiatives to be implemented in improving the business and deliver further commercial maximisation

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Relevant tertiary education in a discipline such as engineering, mathematics, economics, physics, or computer science,
- High numeracy levels with demonstrated experience in manipulating and reviewing large data sets efficiently and with the ability to deal with ambiguities within data,
- High computer literacy (Excel, Microsoft VBA, Matlab, SQL and Python)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully collaborate and convey meaningful insights to clients and colleagues,
- The ability to employ best practice in data visualisation for both interpretation and presentation, and
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about the structure, key drivers and rules relevant to the electricity market
