Expression of Interest - Student Paralegal (Litigation Technology Team)

What are we looking for?

We have an exciting opportunity for student Paralegals to join our Class Actions practice group in Melbourne or Sydney CBD, working within our growing litigation technology team. This position will be on an on-going casual basis and will require a minimum commitment of three days a week.

Our Class Actions team run claims on behalf of large groups of people, facing similar issues who ordinarily may be unable to access legal services on their own. Class actions run by the practice are diverse in nature and include shareholder, trusts, human rights, medical device and bushfire claims.

Your duties will include:

- Reviewing discovered documents and analysing issues arising
- Assisting with the day-to-day administration of class action client and e-discovery databases on specified cases
- Assisting with litigation technology related tasks on specific cases in the class actions practice
- Liaising with clients and group members
- Conducting research tasks (legal and factual)
- General administration

What will you bring?

You will be studying law and be passionate about progressing your career in Class Actions or Personal Injury Law.

The following attributes and skills will assist in your success in the role:

- Strong skills in using Microsoft Excel and broad familiarity with statistical and data analysis techniques
- A demonstrated interest in both the practice of law and technology
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems
- Experience in legal administration
