The College is situated around attractive spacious grounds. Previous rebuilds have enabled the update of three learning community centres with plans to upgrade the other centres when the opportunity arises through the Department.
Our vision is ¿to cultivate a respectful, connected community where every individual learns and grows to their fullest potential¿. Koo Wee Rup Secondary College¿s values of Connection, Respect and Growth underpin the decisions we make in designing an effective learning community.
Our value of Connection refers to the connection we support students to build with each other, their teachers, and the wider community. As a school, we also strive to build connections with our parent/carer community to build a strong learning partnership with each student¿s family. We also seek to help students build learning connections, and to find links between what they learn at school with the world outside of school. Our value of Respect celebrates the importance of positive social and learning interactions. We set high expectations of our school community to consider others, learning resources and education with respect. Our value of Growth underpins the opportunities we provide to our students to expand their potential, resilience, and independence. We believe that with a growth mindset, students can achieve positive change, in themselves and their community.
The College has strong connections to the Head Start initiative and we currently have and will continue to have students undertake an array of SBAT options. We also offer Certificate II VETDSS on campus to support the priority VET pathways as surfaced by the Firth review and the exciting new VCE VM senior certificate option.
