Grounds & Maintenance Officer

We are looking for a **Grounds and Maintenance Officer** to join our Lifestyle Community team at Chambers Pines. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our residents through quality gardening, landscaping, and general maintenance work.

**What You’ll Do**
- Maintain all outdoor areas to a high standard — including lawns, hedging, pruning, mulching, and weeding.
- Ensure pathways, roads, and recreational areas are safe, clean, and free from plant overgrowth or trip hazards.
- Undertake minor landscaping and garden refurbishment works as required.
- Perform pest and disease control, tree trimming, and replacement of unsightly or dying plants.
- Remove garden waste and monitor condition of infrastructure, reporting any damage.
- Assist with pool testing and maintenance.
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on irrigation systems and gardening equipment.
- Carry out general light maintenance duties across the community.
- Uphold a professional, organised, and safety-conscious approach to all tasks.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Proven experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or horticulture roles.
- Sound knowledge of plant species, fertilisers, pest control, and irrigation.
- Ability to carry out basic machinery and equipment maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, with pride in presentation and quality work.
- Empathy and professionalism in all resident interactions.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Flexible, proactive attitude and commitment to WH&S practices.

**Requirements**:

- General gardening and maintenance skills.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in a lifestyle, retirement, or aged care community highly regarded.
