With a focus on leading the Melbourne node's contributions to the dark matter detection program, SABRE underground experiment, R&D for future direct detection experiments, and involvement in prestigious projects such as the ATLAS program at CERN, this role offers a unique platform for advancing your career and making significant contributions to the field of particle physics. After the completion of the Centre’s tenure, the focus of the position will be on suitable aspects of experimental particle physics. Your responsibilities will include: - In collaboration with Senior Academic staff, conducting internationally competitive research, resulting in publications in high impact journals - Actively participating in research seminars and conferences to disseminate research findings in your area of expertise as opportunities arise - Contributing to teaching, training, scientific mentoring, and supervision of students, as well as effectively supervising junior research staff to facilitate the production of publications - Actively participating at School meetings and contributing to planning activities or committee work to support capacity building in the School/discipline **Who We Are Looking For** You are a highly motivated individual driven by the opportunity to build an academic research career trajectory. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to engage with professional bodies and stakeholders to foster collaborative partnerships. With a strong ability to work co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary team, you bring excellent organisational skills to meet deadlines and successfully complete research projects with limited supervision.
