**About the role**:
Join Origin Energy as an Energy Trader and play a pivotal role in optimising our long-term energy portfolio through strategic decision-making in dynamic markets. As part of our team, you'll handle tasks such as gas scheduling, trading in multiple gas markets, and strategically bidding power station output into the electricity spot market. You'll also have the opportunity to shape energy market strategies, mentor junior team members, and provide valuable market insights.

Once training is complete, you'll enjoy a well-balanced 24/7 shift roster that prioritises work-life balance. We understand the importance of avoiding long periods of shift work and offer flexible work-from-home arrangements to support later shifts. **Key responsibilities**:

- Manage daily gas nominations and collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Contribute to strategic thinking for gas trading operations, portfolio management, and addressing physical and financial constraints
- Monitor market conditions and devise strategic responses in consultation with management and team members
- Ensure compliance with bidding regulations, meet deadlines, and contribute to system and procedure development for improved efficiency
