As a business we also funnel some of our profits into the GHD Foundation, a registered charity that works to address disadvantage and inequality in children accessing STEAM education in our countries of operation. **What are we looking for?** We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Landscape Planner or a Graduate Landscape Architect, with a keen interest in developing skills in Landscape Visual Impact Assessment and Landscape Character Assessment to join our Planning, Consultation and Urban Design team in Western Australia. You will work alongside our technical specialists and receive training and development in impact assessment, strategic planning, policy research and design influence enabling you to build upon your skills and experience, as you forge a career path in this growing specialist team. This unique role offers the opportunity to travel frequently to remote and diverse landscapes across Western Australia and interstate. The successful applicant will undertake site assessments and landscape photography on adventurous site visits with all necessary technical and safety training provided. **What is the role?** - Conducting Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) - Contributing to project outcomes within industries that include Renewable Energy, Tourism, Transport and Water - Undertaking site visits and visual impact photography - Providing landscape and urban design recommendations relating to LVIA - Development of policy documents relating to landscape character and visual impact assessment - Producing strategic landscape plans - Collaborating with clients, co-consultants and government authorities - Exposure to a variety of exciting projects, in, regional, metropolitan national, international, and coastal locations - Assessment of Indigenous landscapes, and engagement with Traditional Owners. **To be successful in these roles you will have the following academic and personal attributes**: - The capability to work collaboratively within a project team, with the support of senior staff. - Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture (or similar, such as Urban Design, Environmental Planning and Geography) - Strong writing skills are essential, as are great verbal communication skills. - A genuine interest in landscape character and visual impact assessment - Experience in the use of Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous - An interest in Australian planning policy and legislation - Experience in GIS, AutoCAD and other software packages such as Sketchup (desirable but not required). **What can we offer you?** Outside of the technical development you will gain from working with a successful and experienced team, you’ll also join GHD’s Graduate Development Program.
