**About the Role**
Our reputation has seen the business experience considerable growth, and we are looking for a highly experienced Motor Diesel Fitter to join our team.
This role will work within a cohesive operational team that ensures the company objectives for profit, program, quality, safety, and environmental performance for each project are achieved. Ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and servicing of company plant and fleet to industry standards.
- This role is based across all MGC Civil Sites - Perth Metro & Peel Region: 6035 - 6211
- Full Time, Permanent
- $110,000 - $160,000 + Super + Company Vehicle
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Perform inspections, upkeep, and repairs on diesel engines and mechanical components of trucks, buses, and heavy vehicles, including transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking mechanisms.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions in engines and associated systems
- Examine, extract, and disassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for signs of wear or damage.
- Fix or swap out defective components and reassemble mechanical systems, adhering to service manuals and operational guidelines.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with emission standards.
- Reassemble engines and components after repairs, ensuring proper functionality.
- Perform tests and fine-tune mechanical components to confirm their efficiency and performance post-repair.
- Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to assess and test parts.
- Inspect vehicles and provide roadworthiness certifications or recommend repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Respond to breakdown service calls and assist with vehicle recovery when necessary.
- Ensuring all machinery are kept up to the OEM minimum specifications Report all incidents, near misses or environmental events immediately to Site Supervisor or Project Manager (or any other designated person)
- Daily activities will include but are not limited to:
- o Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
- o Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
- o Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
- o Maintains vehicle records
- o Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules
- At times you will be required to undertake other duties as and when directed by Senior Management.

- Ensure compliance with the HSE Management Plan and ensure that all aspects of the site and work to be completed is undertaken in a safe manner.
- Participate in the development and understanding of task specific SWMS
- Ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
- Report any leaks or excess emissions from operating plant and equipment
