Seeking a passionate chaplain to provide spiritual, pastoral and emotional support to residents, families and staff.

About the Role

The Salvation Army Aged Care is a recognised leader in providing residential aged care services to the community providing client focused services with that added dimension of emotional and spiritual care.

A full-time position has become available at our Seaforth Gardens Aged Care Centre for a Chaplain to join the team, providing spiritual, pastoral and emotional support as well as lead chapel services, Bible studies and funerals.

Seaforth Gardens is an inclusive and caring community located in Gosnells, Western Australia 30 mins south east of Perth.

To be successful in this role, you will need;
- A commitment to the Christian faith and the mission of The Salvation Army
- An ability to offer prayer and pastoral support and explain the Christian gospel
- An understanding of the doctrines/beliefs of The Salvation Army
- A solid knowledge of chaplaincy principles and practices
- An understanding of the needs of older persons
- Diploma of chaplaincy or willingness to obtain within 2 years of commencement
- A uniformed Salvationist or a fully committed Christian, active and of good standing within their denomination and willing to represent the Salvation Army accurately and with integrity
- Willingness to return to the centre on an ad hoc basis to meet resident needs - this will require carrying a supplied mobile phone
- Current drivers licence and reliable registered vehicle
- Evidence of theological reflection or formal qualifications in pastoral theology is desirable.
