UExcel Medical are assisting a major TAS Hospital with the recruitment of an Emergency Consultant/Specialist

**The Organisation**
The hospital is a 300-bed public hospital that treats over 24,000 inpatients and over 225,000 outpatients every year.

The Emergency Department sees over 45,000 presentations annually which grows year on year. The Emergency Department has an optimal layout for effective patient management.

The hospital is a small 43 bed unit that opened in 2012, with an annual attendance of 45,000, a 30% admission rate and approximately 20% paediatric caseload. As the referral hospital for the entire north of Tasmania you will experience high acuity and clinical diversity. The hospital has all major specialties, including a fully supported ICU with ECMO capability and 24-hour cardiac interventional angiography.

Multiple consultants per shift provide direct clinical supervision from 8:00am until midnight, seven days a week with an on-call service outside these hours. There is approximately 30% CST time with individual portfolios, weekly consultant team meetings and regular educational events. On-call is approximately 1 in 8 shifts, and weekends 1 in 3.

The Consultant group supports ACEM, FACRRM and FRACGP trainees with 24 month ACEM accreditation, including paediatric logbook. The hospital is an accredited AMC WBA site, the department additionally supports multiple international medical graduates at all levels from HMO to Staff Specialist.

Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent.
