**The position**
The Department of Health and Aged Care is looking for a passionate and motivated
individual to join to our Indigenous Liaison Officer (ILO) Unit. The position offers generous
flexible working arrangements and may be conducted remotely or on Ngunawal Country
(Canberra, ACT) and either full-time or part-time.

**About the role**
ILO duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing pastoral care to First Nations staff.
- Creating and fostering partnerships with community organisations and internally to
strengthen our cultural capability.
- Driving implementation of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2021-23, and its
alignment to the Closing the Gap Action Plan.
- Management of the Secretariat for the Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.
- Leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of culturally appropriate
initiatives and strategies that support our First Nations workforce.
- Supporting NATSISN and the senior executive Indigenous Champions.
- Assisting in the promotion of various First Nations dates of significance including
National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.
- Representing Health at APS and external meetings and forums.
