About the opportunity

Mercy Place Montrose is a modern facility providing residential aged care accommodation at the base of the Dandenong in small household style living.

Each area houses a maximum of 8 residents with single rooms and ensuites, private dining areas and kitchenettes.

You will be supported by our clinical nursing staff to provide all day to day care for our residents.- Provide emotional support and companionship to elderly clients.- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.- Support mobility and help prevent falls or injuries.- Monitor health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.- Accompany clients to appointments and social outings- Encourage mental stimulation through conversation, games, or hobbies.- Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparation.- Promote independence while offering necessary support

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Empathy and patience in dealing with elderly individuals.- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and families.- Reliability and trustworthiness in caregiving duties.- Cultural sensitivity and respect for individual preferences.- Discretion and confidentiality in handling personal information.- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Individual Support (Australia-specific)

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:- Proof of current influenza vaccination
