About the Role
- Manage investments and support transactions & growth opportunities
- Excellent benefits, leave policies, recognition, and discounted energy
- Full Time Permanent | Sydney based offering hybrid work arrangements
A full time permanent opportunity has become available for an Investment Analyst within the Corporate Development team. In this role, you will provide input and support on AGL’s investments and joint ventures. Subject to the demands of the primary investment role, you will potentially also be given the opportunity to support the execution of the broader Corporate Development mandate, including targeted merger and acquisition activity, project financings, screening and appraising growth opportunities and investigating ways to drive business performance.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development & Investments, you will:
- Take a leading role in supporting the establishment of a centralised investment management and oversight function, including formalising access to investee information and reporting, establishing periodic internal reporting/update templates and processes for identifying potential collaboration opportunities and future capital raising rounds
- Consolidate, analyse and synthesise periodic reporting materials received in respect of AGL’s various investments and joint venture interests
- Support AGL’s nominated Directors and board observers, by reviewing board and other materials and providing summaries which highlight key corporate activities, opportunities and risks and, where appropriate, recommendations
- Monitor investments against budgets, forecast and investment cases
- Facilitate operational interactions between investee companies and AGL where there are opportunities for AGL and its investees to collaborate for mutual benefit
- Assess new investment opportunities that align with AGL’s strategy and prepare investment proposals
- Take carriage of investment transaction administration and project management
About You

With an inquisitive mindset, you are data driven and possess a high level of attention to detail. You actively demonstrate initiative, are proactive in problem solving and you aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo using your strong communications and influencing skills.

- Undergraduate and/or post graduate qualifications in finance, economics or similar
- Demonstrated previous experience in commercial finance roles
- Investment banking/M&A advisory, funds/asset management, project finance, corporate development, transactions services, valuation modelling or similar experience is desired but not essential. - Effective oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to present complex information in a concise manner to senior stakeholders
- Project management experience
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience or strong interest in Australian Energy markets
Please note - unsolicited resumes from agencies will not be accepted by AGL.
